About me
My name is Ayri ( pronounced just like "ill have A-rye and coke", thanks to my hippy father for that creativity) and I take portraits that will evoke emotions and memories that you will treasure for the rest of your life. Born and raised on Vancouver Island I consider this beautiful place full of looming cedars and grand mountains my home in every way. I have always been known by friends and family as animal crazy and I am rarely seen without at least one of my critters in tow. My current zoo is comprised of 4 dogs, 3.5 horses, 2 cats and 2 turtles and I cant imagine it any other way. I enjoy competition with my dogs in agility and with my horses I enjoy cattle work and extreme mountain trail while the cats and turtles live a life of leisure.
I have enjoyed photography since I was a young child following my mom around with her various and ever changing camera bag. I learned to love capturing images of the world around me (mostly animals) with her gently guiding and encouraging me. When Covid 19 hit I found myself with more time as my business was forced to close and I finally put the time into finding the perfect camera. As Covid pushed on I realised that grooming was taking a toll on my body and I was unable to continue to work full time so I split my time between work and learning to capture quality fine art photography. As time has progressed this passion has become a way of life and I truly love creating art through the lens of a camera.
My photography is all about capturing the personality of each animal within the beautiful backdrop that Vancouver Island provides. While it is most important for me to capture a beautiful image straight out of camera the retouching done in post production is where your portrait will transform from a photograph into a piece of art. With my guidance you and I will create a piece of art that will wow its viewers and be treasured for a lifetime.
